We’re excited to share the repairs to the dam are nearly complete. PCS has finished the repairs to the dam. The urethane, used to seal holes in the dam, needs some time to set up to become fully effective but it’s looking really good right now. The CLA Dam Committee will be monitoring. Repairing those leaks will make a huge difference in retaining water in the lake. Now all we need is more rain!
The final phase of the project is getting the control mechanism set up on the new control valve. It is being custom manufactured locally and Steve Cowles hopes to have it installed by mid-November. Essentially, it is a 7 1/2 foot extension on the riser above the valve so that it can be operated while standing on top of the dam. The valve is made of stainless steel and the control mechanism will be as well which will make it last much longer in a wet environment. This will be safer and easier for those who adjust the outflows on the lake.
Here are a few pictures of the progress over the past couple of months.
Many thanks to those who contributed to the repairs. It benefits all who enjoy Clary Lake and is greatly appreciated.
