After much planning and preparation, repairs have finally begun at the Clary Lake dam! Dave Wyman is seen here (picture at left)  working on the first phase of the project, sealing the leaks between the stones. This is done first by installing steel pipes in the bigger cracks and cleaning out loose mortar from the joints. Once the pipes have been installed, they will shoot gunite over the entire downstream face of the dam. They’ll then use the pipes to inject special expanding grout into the dam under high pressure to stop the leaking. The final phase of work will be installing a 16″ diameter steel pipe with gate valve in the existing gate structure. All told the work is expected to take around a month to complete.

Fundraising to pay for this work is ongoing and is going well, but we still need donations to meet our goal! If you haven’t donated yet to help pay for this important work, please plan to do so soon! Dave worked on the original repairs to the dam back in late Fall, 2018 and it was great to see him again and discuss the project. He’s happy to be back here to finish the job he started nearly 8 years ago. This is the culmination of several decades of intense effort by the Association and I can’t tell you how gratifying it is to see this work finally getting done.
