Last spring I accompanied David Hodsdon and Jack Holland on one of their regular monitoring sessions. Here are some pictures I took showing them going through their routine.
- David and Jack arrive on site and drop anchor. After doing this for years, they’ve gotten pretty good anchoring (close to) the same spot.
- Measuring the water depth to confirm their location.
- Jack doing a secchi disk reading.
- David’s turn with the secchi disk.
- David using the YSI Pro20 digital dissolved oxygen meter.
- A close up of the YSI Pro 20 digital dissolved oxygen meter display.
- Jack doing the data recording.
- David measures the wind speed, direction, and temperature.
- 37 years of secchi disk readings
